the third...the baby....the boss

>> Monday, February 08, 2010

I'm doing what I said I would do so here it is.

Gymnastics tonight, these girls LOVE gymnastics...can't wait till Mondays.....talk about it all week. As we are driving up to gymnastics, Sid declares she does not want to participate today.

We pull out all of the tricks in the book and STILL can't get her to go in.

UNBELIEVABLE, since the day she was born she has upheld the name "little boss"

1. refused to eat baby food; still doesn't eat and only keeps about 10-15 preferred foods in her diet
2. refused to poop in the toilet until the age of four, do you know what it's like to change a diaper from a three and a half year old?
3. eats a different dinner from the rest of the family EVERY NIGHT
4. pulls out the line...."Mommy do it" "Daddy do it" and the ever popular "Grammy do it" and won't let anyone else help except that designated person
5. occasionally refuses to get out of the car to go to school when I pull up to the kiss and drop line. (without any warning)
6. has sent back food at restaurants starting at about the age of two because it wasn't hot enough or there were garnishes on it
7. must make her homework every night to do with her sisters and if I don't, I pay for it
8. insisted I go to school on Saturday morning to get her folder she forgot. threw an ENORMOUS fit and didn't care if I had to break in
9. must take inventory of her stuffed animals on her bed every night and cover her up with her blankets in a certain order
10. hates the dentist/doctor and throws a fit even at the age of five
11. occasionally she insists I feed her because that is the only way she will eat

I could go on and on and on. Now many of you would say...why give into her? Well we've tried this and she doesn't give in. She won't eat for days if you give her something she doesn't like. When she was younger she would just hold her poop if we didn't give her a diaper, she just doesn't give in. I'm guessing it's the combination of being third child, the baby of the family, and the red hair.

Love her to pieces but she is definitely my birth control on days like this.

Grammy's Here!

>> Saturday, January 23, 2010

Grammy made it in town this afternoon and we are happy giddy girls.

No cute pictures of the girls running to her as she was coming off the plane. Taking them in and schlepping them through the airport sounded much to tiring to me.
..................So we picked her up curbside.

I "think" the girls enjoyed it just as much...they all jumped out of their car seats and smothered her in hugs and kisses immediately and Sid talked her ear off the whole way home.

Other news of the day....Tay continues to get under my skin and she's gotten to be a pro. Today's (worse) doing was walking through the big puddle (aka: a lake) after we told her not to. Her excuse...she thought it was grass!
Do you ever get grass and water confused?....I know I don't

At times like this I wonder what would be my frustrations if I didn't have any children. That makes me realize I'd rather deal with my children being children rather than have none at all. They are the loves of my lives, behind my husband, and my life would be oh so boring and less rewarding without them, their drama, and most importantly love!

How can you stay angry at those sweet faces?

I'm Annoyed...and that's my story

>> Friday, January 22, 2010

Around 12:30 the phone rings at the house and what do you know it starts with 449.

Know what that means?

Dum-Dum-Dum.....it's school!

I answer and the nurse at school proceeds to tell me Tay has yet again come in with a stomach ache. Now Tay at the nurses office isn't something to worry about, this has to be around the 15th time this year she has fallen ill with a tummy ache a school.

But this time was different because the nurse told me she seems to be getting a fever.

I sent Andrew on his way to pick up the "possibly sick" child from school, and hope and pray she's not coming down with the dreaded stomach flu again.

As they walk through the door Andrew has "the look" on his face. You know the look where we got fooled by our daughter and what do we do now.
According to him as soon as her feet walked out of school she proceeded to run around in the parking lot pretending to be blow away by the wind. I took her temperature; 98.7 so much for the fever the nurse said she was getting. Does she know how to fake that too?!

We're stumped. We don't know what to do.
We don't know if this tummy ache is caused by nervousness, her allergies, or is just a game.

One thing I do know about this tummy ache nonsense is that it is DARN ANNOYING!
Thinking about trying kids yoga because my best guess is it is nerves.

Anyway on to other annoying issues of the past two days. Rain: it has rained like we live in Seattle here for the past week. Our problems from the rain have been...

1. flooded courtyard

2. unplugged the drain in courtyard; the gallons of water drained to the front yard and ruined it

3. leaky roof in the closet, right on top of my clothes

4. tree down in the front yard

I hate rain. Enough said, and you can't change my mind

Oh my am I ready for a vacation!
